INTEREST 2023 CONFERENCE, MOZAMBIQUE

SPOTLIGHT: PARTICIPATING AT INTEREST 2023 CONFERENCE, MOZAMBIQUE

Our active engagement in the INTEREST 2023 Conference held in Maputo, Mozambique was a watershed moment. During this event, Dr. Onwah Ogheneuzuazo, our Senior Technical Advisor for Prevention, Care, and Treatment, delivered an abstract presentation on the prevalence and predictors of persistent low-level HIV viremia among patients receiving dolutegravir-based antiretroviral therapy in Southern Nigeria. The INTEREST 2023 conference brings together international HIV prevention and treatment researchers. Dr. Ogheneuzuazo's abstract delved into the insights garnered from the USAID-funded ECEWS ACE-5 project, shedding light on the experience and discoveries.

The presentation also advocated for vigilant monitoring of low-level HIV viremia to enhance treatment outcomes for recipients of HIV care. The abstract discussed the experience and findings of the USAID-funded ECEWS ACE-5 project and proposed that low-level HIV viraemia be constantly monitored to improve treatment outcomes for HIV care recipients. Eleven (11) more abstracts were approved for the conference's abstract book, and three (3) more for poster presentations. In essence, our involvement in the INTEREST 2023 Conference not only spotlighted our dedication but also facilitated the exchange of ideas and knowledge among the global community of HIV researchers and practitioners
